About Tour Package

This six-day journey is designed for travelers who want to experience Albania fully — not just its most famous sights, but its culture, its cuisine, its people, and its extraordinary diversity of landscapes. From the ancient stones of Butrint to the Ottoman splendour of Gjirokastra and Berat, from the cosmopolitan energy of Tirana to the medieval fortress of Kruja, and from the ancient Greek ruins of Apollonia to the beach towns of the Ionian coast, this itinerary is Albania in its entirety.

The tour begins and ends in Corfu — just 45 minutes by ferry from Albania’s southern coast — making it the ideal extension for travelers already visiting the Greek islands, or for those who wish to experience both countries on a single trip.

    6 Days in Albania ( Deaprture: 9:00 am )
Take the morning ferry from Corfu to Saranda (departing 09:00, arriving 08:40 Albanian time — Albania is one hour ahead of Greece). On arrival, your vehicle and guide are waiting. Drive directly to Butrint National Park for a guided tour of Albania's UNESCO archaeological gem. Return to Saranda for a visit to Lekuresi Castle and its panoramic views. Lunch included. Afternoon drive to visit the Blue Eye spring before continuing to Gjirokastra for overnight. (Distance: approximately 100 km)
Begin with a guided walking tour of Gjirokastra's UNESCO Old Town — its medieval castle, cobblestone streets, and the extraordinary Ethnographic Museum. Then drive north to Berat — Albania's second UNESCO city, known as the 'City of a Thousand Windows' for the rows of Ottoman houses that cascade down its hillside. Explore the old town, visit Onufri Icon Museum and the castle. Lunch included. Overnight in Berat. (Distance: 105 km)
Morning drive towards Tirana, with a lunch stop in Durrës — Albania's second city and principal port, built over an ancient Greek colony. In the afternoon, arrive in Tirana and begin exploring the capital: the National History Museum (the largest museum in Albania, with a spectacular Soviet-era mosaic facade), the Ottoman-era Et'hem Bey Mosque, and the elegant Skanderbeg Square. Overnight in Tirana. (Distance: 190 km)
Morning drive to Kruja — the mountain fortress town of Albania's national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu. The castle here was the seat of Skënderbeu's resistance against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century — one of the most remarkable military campaigns in European history. Visit the Skanderbeg Museum and the old bazaar, one of Albania's best-preserved Ottoman markets. Lunch in Kruja included. Return to Tirana for free time, then an optional cable car ride up Mt. Dajti (1,100 m) for panoramic views over the capital. Overnight in Tirana. (Distance: 100 km)
Head west towards the Ionian coast. First stop: Ardenica Monastery — a spectacular 18th-century Orthodox monastery perched on a rocky hilltop amid pine and cypress trees, with magnificent frescoes and one of Albania's finest iconostases. Continue to the archaeological site of Apollonia — founded by Greek colonists from Corinth in 588 BC, it grew into one of the most important cities of the ancient Mediterranean. Julius Caesar studied philosophy here. The site is extraordinary in scale and preservation. Lunch included. Evening arrival in Vlora — the city where Albanian independence was declared in 1912. Overnight in Vlora. (Distance: 160 km)
Early morning departure from Vlora. Drive south along the stunning Albanian Riviera — one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Europe — stopping in Himara and driving through the dramatic Llogara Pass (1,027 m). Final lunch stop in Saranda. Take the afternoon ferry from Saranda to Corfu, arriving approximately 19:00 Greek time. (Distance: approximately 180 km)
